I grew up in a college town in southeastern South Dakota. I was raised in the church and I have always known Jesus and have believed in what he has done for me. I don’t remember a time when this wasn’t true.
I was prompted by the God through a camp counselor when I was in middle school to consider going into full-time ministry and through the encouragement of my local congregation, my pastor, my friends, and my family, I enrolled in seminary to begin training for ministry.
I recently accepted a call to serve as the Senior Pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kirkland, WA. I will begin my duties in this calling on July 1st.
My wife, Miriam, and I were married in June of 2007. We have three kids, Evangelyn, Esther, and Nathan.
Miriam grew up on a farm, east of Flandreau, SD and attended Christ the King Free Lutheran Church in Pipestone, MN.
Our family enjoys playing outside, going for bike rides, our Saturday morning hikes, and going to the beach.
We all have spent our entire lives in the upper Midwest but we have been living in Southern California since June 2017. We will be moving to the Seattle area this summer!
